Random Thoughts On 9/11

Myth is to culture what ego is to person.

Miricles will have their claimers
More will bow to Rome
He and she are in the house
But there's only me at home

-- Neil Peart/Rush; Presto; Anagram (for Mongo), 1989

Everyone has some sort of bias right? Since this is a page frought with politics, there's certainly gonna be such here. So what's the issue around which my politics revolve? It's really simple: LIBERTY. That's all. LIBERTY: good for you; good me, LIBERTY. That's my central motivation, and preoccupation in posting this page.

So, you want to know what's going on? You really want to know what's going on? OK, I'll tell you what's going on:

There are a few other issues - and many say these are the core/root issues - that we all need to look at - like central banking; the fiat money system; and concentrated wealth in the "New World Order"; the industrial military complex; divide, and conquer politics; and the problem of vested interest among government organizations that should focus more on serving their citizens, than their agency budgets, and lining their own pockets; but the most immediate issues are:

1. The United States is broke (see, below, Red, White, and Blue Storm Rising).

2. Our leadership sees mid east oil as the sollution to our economic problems.

Insult To Injury? - There's got to be a better way.

To get the American people behind, and in support of war:

(taken from above linked article)

The present government of the United States NEEDS the American people to be afraid, to be blindly afraid, to react and respond, and not to reason. There is only one way for the government to achieve this, through a phony terror attack such as those planned by Operation NORTHWOODS, and I greatly fear that we will see one in the very near future.

Because once a government resorts to terrorizing its own population to control them, it must keep on doing so. A government that uses terror to control its own population cannot ever stop using terror to control its own population, out of fear that a population no longer afraid will start to think clearly about what is going on. Terror has to become legal. Terror has to become accepted as necessary for domestic policy. Hence the call for torture, secret courts, and the abandonment of the protections of the Bill of Rights.

And what do you, the American citizen stand to gain from any of this? Well, make no mistake about it. You stand to gain NOTHING. In fact, if anything, you will continue to lose civil liberties. WAKE UP! You are about to be royally screwed, without the loving. So go ahead. Get your war on. But expect nothing but loss for your faithful "patriotic" support. Pissed off yet? You should be.

Introduction To This Page

The main objective here is to sumarize the main points concerning what's going on with the war on terror, homeland security, and the economy. It's a quick way to get up to speed, but there's also encouragement, and help for getting started with seeking out the truth for yourself - so you don't have to relie soley on what's said here.

I created this here page 'cause I think main stream media are not only one-sided in what they report, but go so far as to subvert free speech by leaving out crucial parts of the stories they cover, or by not covering some stories at all. The media, by various biased organizations, are helped along and encouraged in their bias, but mostly their bias is fueled by the all mighty dollar, and while there's certainly nothing wrong with making a buck, any claim of objective, fair reporting by commercial media cannot be taken seriously - commercial media will only report what will keep the viewers watching through the next commercial/advertisement break.

So if you want a more accurate view of the who, what, when, where, how, and why of what's going on the world, you must seek sources other than traditional american commercial media. Motivated by just such a notion, I set out on the internet to see what I could see.

Email To Friend

The following is part of an email I sent to a friend who's in Switzerland doing physics graduate work. I'm pleased with it because I think it goes a good ways in crystalizing my thoughts on what's going on with all the war hub-bub, homeland security, and the economy these days, and so I thought it would be handy for posting here on my patriot page:

I just finished watching a Defense Secretary Rumsfeld news conference on C-Span, and it appears clear to me that this administration is trying to sell a new reality to the American people. Basically it says we're going to wage war on the world, and occasionally, we're going to sacrafice a few Americans here on American soil because of slipped through the back door terrorist attacks. Now this "reality" itself is sickening enough, but it was the transparency of what's going on - the selling of this out of the blue reality context - that's more sickening. They keep repeating the mantra, 'We live in a new world. This is the 21fst century. We've got to approach things differently.' [Translation: You, the American citizen, don't know anything. Forget everything you think you know, and History too. WE know what's going on. And WE'VE got secret information. So just shut up, and listen to US, the authorities, because YOU are superfluous, and stupid.] And so on. Meanwhile, there's plenty of evidence to show that there was plenty that could have been done to prevent 9/11, but there was nothing. The same old questions are ignored in that regard. They are basically telling us they can't come up with anything better than that. This is our leadership, and that's the best they can do. Some leadership - who needs enemies? And if you don't like it, well they've got a cozy little internment camp for you. This country is clearly headed toward a police state if it's not there already - and there are clear signs it is - and ultimately, martial law. This is quickly becomming no longer a joke. This is a country that is being prepared for canibalization by it's own government, military, and corporations.

American Commercial Media

Television (C-Span excepted) ought to come with a tag that says: Warning: May result in delusional belief and values system (and ultimately, the demise of the United States Constitution). Hey, there's an idea. Bring a class action law suit against the television industry, news media, public relations firms, etc., for brainwashing.

Our present political system does not work precisely because of an ineffective mass media - ineffective to the point where it virtually subverts American constitutional rights regarding free speech. Because of our present mass media, everything is about spin, and never the real underlying issues. That's politics. But all this indirection - layers of political spin used to present underlying issues - leaves ample room for so much reality twisting that who's right and who's wrong is merely a function of who's got the biggest media voice. Now, who's behind the voice controling mass media? Show me that person(s), or organization(s), and I'll show you who has a vastly inordinate amount of world influence. - (Written by me. Impressive italics ay? The media is a very powerful tool - the how, and who of what's said is important, but not nearly as important as the what.)

Commercial American media constantly distract the American people from the real issues - issues that actually have an impact on what happens, issues about which we can actually make a difference - one of the reasons nothing ever seems to really change is because most of us don't know what these issues are. The media doesn't distract us because they're mean - they're just trying to make a buck. But there are independent news, and other information sources out there like the one linked below. They're a good place to start.

What You Can Do

Living in a free society is not always easy. You can't just want to be free. You sometimes have to fight to be free. The framers of our constitution knew this. In grade school we're taught there are 3 branches of governement - legislative, judicial, and executive. But, there is a crucial fourth branch. It's right there at the very beginning of the US Constitution: We the people.. That's right. Freedom is not free, and being an American citizen comes with certain duties, and responsibilities. If not us, who? If not now, when?

By reading this web page, you've already begun doing the single most important thing you can do, and that is to become informed through objective, truth seeking information sources. Next, pass your views on to as many people as you can, as best you are able to do. Don't get yourself in trouble, but don't be afraid to voice your opinion - fear of terrorism, and the "patriotic" hysteria it has induced in the American people is the government's principle tool in getting us to go along to get along with the latest crock of bullshit with which we are now being subjected. If you want to go to war, and take that fucker's oil from him, and continue to live in fear right here in your own country, then fine. But at least make an informed dicision on that issue first.

And make a serious effort to sit quietly, and try to imagine what it would be like if a bomb dropped on you're house, because that's what war is all about. Ever been in a serious auto accident? Some people have never even bumped into a wall. War? Ask youself: "What do I know about war?"

Oh, a couple links, lest we forget that this, America, is, contrary to what our bloated, scumbag of a government seems to think (am I being too harsh?), a free country: origins of the bill of rights, and if you are still not convinced.
