"The trick is to fall and miss the ground. This happens only when someone falls and becomes so preoccupied with something else that they forget that they are falling, and therefore are no longer doing it. Flying is just a permanent state of falling, minus the hitting the ground part." - Douglas Adams

Above MP3 link to download interview described below in excerpts from
Elmar von Muralt's posts to cnews.corel.com newsgroup, corel.wpoffice.paradox9.

(In Corel's Paradox 9 newsgroup, Dennis Santoro suggested to Elmar that he record the interview, and make it available to everyone, and Liz Woodhouse suggested the idea of donating ftp site space so Elmar could upload the interview to it. I having read these suggestions, present the present page.)

Tomorrow, i.e., Thursday 17th May, 2001, at 10:05am AES (AES = GMT
+10h), there will be a repeat broadcast on ABC FM (Australian
Broadcasting Corporation - Fine Music) of an interview by Margaret
Throsby with Douglas Adams. This interview was recorded sometime in the
latter half of 2000, if memory serves. This broacast will be repeated
also on 7:05pm (19:05) AES.

Well!

Panic! I tried to get hold of the lads at uni - they were out for
dinner. Then with 50 minutes to go I got hold of Nat, he didn't have
anything that worked but at least they would make a tape. Then he found
a piece of shareware on tucows. 5MB on a slow line - I grabbed it
anyway. With 5 minutes to go unzipped it and installed it.  2 minutes to
go it suggests to make a test recording. Done, works. One minute to go
start the show. Whew!

BTW what I had downloaded was Cybercorder2000 [from Tucows.com].
It most certainly has been one of the easiest if not _the_ easiest
and quickest piece of software I ever had to install. It doesn't have
a lot of bells and whistles but it does the job it's intended to do. The
only quirk I've seen so far is it asks you to name the recording only
to save it as mmddyy-hhmmss.wav. I can live with that.

145MB later it's all in the can but I suspect, even once converted to
.mpg, it'll still be too big for E-mail - I've got a 2MB size limit for
E-mail. Unfortunately, I haven't got a website, however, I've got a
burner ;o)
